Twice now in the past week I’ve had an error on my screen about the engine overheating. I’m usually going 75mph at the time. I’ll push the clutch in a lay off the power and this will disappear. I then stop at a service station both times and checked coolant and it is fine and bright pink. Once I’ve stopped and set off again I don’t have any issues for the rest of my journey. Also the car only has 75hp but it feels down on power before I get the engine over heating warning. Once I pull over like I said before and start up the car again it fees like it pulls harder from 60+ mph. I’m booked in to get this check in a couple of weeks but does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Some background info:

- A month or 2 ago I managed to damage my radiator while reversing over a curb while my undertray was half off. I could see a leak in the radiator and coolant was going down when I went above 50mph. Got the radiator changed and haven’t had an issue with coolant leaks since.

- Car is due for cambelt and water pump change (booked for 2 weeks time but should have been done a year ago) Belt doesn’t look damaged though

- The cars telling me 600 miles then oil and service is needed which is also booked in for 2 weeks time.

    Thanks for the response.

Would this be the cause of the lack of power I’m feeling?

And would this be okay to drive for the next two weeks till I get it serviced at a VAG group specialist?
