Just thought I’d get a little frustration out. Howie saying during halftime, “Henry is now trending down” may not be verbatim but close enough. Now you guys tell me, is Henry’s lack of production this year because he’s trending down or that the o-line is second worse to only the Panthers. It just really got on my nerves, I thought it was a comment not very well thought through.

I think it’s a combination of those things if anything. RBs usually trend downward around 30 and our OL is just awful this year. Personally, I think Henry still has a lot left in the tank but if you just look at numbers, he’s trending down. Numbers aren’t the end all be all and a lot of other factors need to be considered

Henry would be an All-Pro behind the Dallas o-line so even if he is declining he’s still a top 5 back.

Derrick is still a top 10, fringe top 5 back with elite traits - but is he nowhere close to being as dominant as he was at his peak.

The o line sucks, but has provided him running lanes that he would’ve exploited in years past.

He’s turning 30 this year. He’s not as fast/ agile as he once was.

All three of these things are true. Howie is not wrong. He’s not saying derrick sucks, but the greats don’t stay great forever.

Lost a step…agree OL awful…agree Lateral quickness and vision taking a step downwards…agree However With a real OL he gets 1600 yards and is a top 3 back

As a titans fan he is 100% trending down. Statistically a lot of the regression is from the o-line, but the eye test clearly shows you that he’s lost a lot of burst and contact balance. Not significant regression, but to say there’s none is just wrong

Online is dog shit and Henry’s role has been reduced some. He’s still elite.

Henry definitely still has juice left, but his time is rapidly running thin. I feel sorry for him that this crucial year of his career is being wasted behind this putrid o line. I feel like the franchise will do him a service and give him the green light to walk in free agency to a Super Bowl contending team in 2024. Sucks to think about, but I’m already mentally prepared for it :(

I think he’s correct. Spears is now the most dynamic runner on the team and I think if it wasn’t for Henry’s legacy, he’d be starting over Henry the remainder of the season…

Not the same since he broke his foot. Gets brought down by first contact regularly now. Rarely breaks tackles when that used to be the norm.

Hello everyone. I understand he is losing a step and is definitely not in his prime anymore. I will admit my post/comment wasn’t thought out too well either. I just get frustrated that the titans never get talked about, and when they do its only because we’re doing bad. Except for the good comments on Levis recently. But that’s the league, unfortunately, and we’re in small market as well.
