I’m 23 and I really wanna get into makeup more seriously but I’m so lost on what to buy. I obviously don’t want to buy everything, especially because I have a sensitive skin and I’m leaning towards better quality/more expensive brands. So far I’ve ordered: lipstick, lip liner, eyeshadow, eyebrow pencil, and foundation. I know I need an eyeliner and primer. What else? I see all these bronzers and luminizers and concealers… I don’t really need them all, do I? And do I need a different primer for eyes? I see those sold separately. If you also have any recommendations for application tools I’m super happy to hear about that too. Thanks a bunch!
For brushes, It Cosmetics, hands down, has the BEST for blush brush. It’s made a certain way so when you apply it, it goes on extremely natural and does the work for you. For regular eyeliner I use Urban Decay 24/7 Glide and Stila’s All Day Long waterproof eyeliner. I like to use Laura Geller’s Spackle for face primer. She also makes a eye primer to keep your eyeshadow put. If you have oily skin, I love Bare Mineral’s Illuminating Mineral Veil. Gives you a glow, not tacky glitter like others, and controls oil.♥️♥️ LOVE this product.
Thank youu definitely looking into these! I was hoping a lip liner would help me make my lips look a bit fuller since they’re so thin🥲 and I don’t really want to get a lip filler. I use lip balms when my lips are dry but I don’t like how the sticky/shiny lips feel and look.
Some lip balms can be a pain in the butt. Kaja’s (brand) Heart Melter Moisture Melt Lipgloss Stick is sold at Sephora. Very hydrating. I also love It Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi lip products. Not sticky like other brands. Sold at Amazon. Tarte’s Maracuja Juicy Lip Creme sold at Sephora. I wear Mauve for my fair skin.
Thank you for all the details! Super helpful 🥰
If you have super sensitive skin, check out Tower 28, they’re the only beauty brand that uses 100% ingredients approved by the national eczema foundation: https://www.tower28beauty.com/pages/philosophy
I learned about this the other day and found it pretty cool! I don’t have super sensitive skin, I just swatched their concealer and lip jelly in sephora and really liked it.Personally, I use the same primer all over my face. A lot of “clean beauty” brands (Ilia, Kosas, even Haus Labs) have skincare ingredients in them already, and don’t “need” a primer before using for the full effect. Personally, if you’re just starting out, I would grab a concealer for under the eyes because it can really brighten up your face.
If you’re starting out with eyeliner, I really recommend starting with crayons, pencils, and eyeshadows before using liquid eyeliner because it’s a little unruly.
