Several ways to go from here…
We either hire from within most likely either tabor or evero
or go outside looking at candidates like Ben Johnson, Eric Beinemy, Jim Harbaugh (I personally don’t think he will leave Michigan) etc…
I don’t think there is a shortage of good coaches out there at all. To me the firing was just as Frank pretty much proved time and times again he would refuse to change the way he went about running the team. However with the firing we now have a stigma of a coach coming in for a minute and out the next. Tepper has to let the football minds take control of the hiring process.
I like many would love Ben Johnson as the next HC however unless Tepper backs up the brinks truck AND lets Johnson run the team without him being involved probably won’t happen.
Main thing that I want know more than anything is to see how Thomas Brown’s real offense is going to work, now that he will be using his playbook. I’m hopeful he will run a modern offense that actually uses motion and creativity to scheme guys open so Bryce can start to get conformable. Regardless the next HC absolutely needs to feel comfortable that he can build talent around Bryce or we will be back to square 1 again.
Overall though feel like this was a correct decision. Would like to have a GM and HC come in together but will see.
How"s everyone else feeling?
Wouldn’t mind Frank Smith, although it’d be another Frank…
