PG: Scoot

SG: Shaedon

SF: Thybulle/Camara

PF: Jabari

C: Ayton/Time Lord

Now the team is going to add two 1st round picks next year plus another possible first if they trade Brogdon. Future is bright in Rip City.

I like our young core, but it’s also more of the same old. Portland has almost always has develop our own talent because it’s hard for us to attract stars. Like if you look at the list of players who have been all-stars who have played for the blazers in the last 30 years, by far most were drafted by the blazers/traded for very early in their career. The two most notable exceptions are probably Rasheed Wallace and Carmelo Anthony (who’s peak playing years were after or before they played ok Portland).

The result is we often put together really solid, promising teams that just lack that X-factor to take us past the first round in a play-off series.

I like Camara/Thybulle/Ayton/Walker, but I think most of those players’ ceiling is “good 6th man or 4th option starter” type players.

Sharpe and Scoot might have the most explosive potential of our young players, but it’s hard to say if they will ever turn into the kind of player you need to go deep into the playoffs. And realistically, they BOTH need to be all-star caliber players.

So, basically, I’m optimistic about us looking better in the future, but I’m also trying to be realistic about our ceiling.

We need more players, no doubt. However, if the team hits big on a pick or two the next couple years they will be in great shape.

The two presumed pillars of this franchise now are Scoot and Sharpe. It’s still early to tell what he’ll be. He’s been improving each and every game. Shaedon looks like his has multi-time all star potential.

It’s all about putting the right pieces around these 2 players. It would be great if we could draft a dynamic small forward. We also have to figure out if Ayton can be a starting center on a team that hopes to compete/contend in the future

You and me see too very different things when looking at that list lol. If that’s our core we’re going to be looking back at the Dame teams wondering how we had it so good. Time Lord shouldn’t even be listed at all, dude is averaging 35 games a season 6 years into the league lol. He’s absolutely toast

Thankfully we should have two high lottery picks the next two years.

Don’t forget Skylar Mays, who’s younger than Williams and Thybulle.

As for that core, there’s some promise, but let’s not get crazy. Every one of those guys outside of Sharpe and Ayton could realistically become backups. Sounds crazy to say that about Scoot, but I’ve seen what happened with Fultz.

Damn I feel like scoot is lacking a left hand to finish not hating but every time he does that scoop move to the left side hes trying to reverse it in when it would be easier just to go up left
