The NFL’s trade deadline of Halloween is fast approaching, and with 3 days left for the Bills to make moves, here are some players I could see the Bills looking into, and some players the Bills could look to move on from.

Target: Mike Evans, WR, Tampa Bay.

The Bills are not necessarily in need of a WR, but are looking at the future of the position, and with Mike Evans having problems with Tampa Bay, the thought of Diggs and Evans paired together makes me cry tears of joy.

Evans is the definition of the word consistent, having nine consecutive 1000 yard seasons to start his career. That’s right, he has never had less than 1000 yards in a season before. Evans is a monster receiver whose massive 6 foot 5 frame gives him the ability to catch over DBs. Pair him with Allen’s cannon arm and watch.

It is very unlikely this happens, but if I’m Brandon Beane, I’m doing nearly everything in my power to get this deal done.

Target: Leonard Williams, IDL, New York Giants.

Another guy on a hefty contract, Leonard Williams fits into the Bills’ plans due to the loss of DaQuan Jones. Williams can rush the passer, but is also a suitable run stopper, and the Bills need that stabilizing force right now.

At IDL currently, the Bills have Ed Oliver, who is primarily a pass-rusher, Tim Settle, who is merely pedestrian, The ever-invisible Jordan Phillips, and the ever-inactive Poona Ford.

The Giants suck right now, and being at the bottom of the conference, they could absolutely look to move on from a couple pieces, Williams being one. If the Bills wanted to go all-in, this is a possible move for them.

Target: Baron Browning, LB, Denver.

The Broncos are starting to pull out of the tailspin they’ve been in, but near the bottom of the conference standings, the Broncos will be executing a fire sale of massive proportions.

If the Bills wanted to capitalize, one player they could look to nab is LB Baron Browning. Browning just came back to the Broncos off of the PUP list, but he could make an impact on this roster. LB Josey Jewell also fits this spot, but I picked Browning since it would likely be cheaper to acquire him.

With Milano out long-term, the Bills need a stop-gap, as Tyrel Dodson and Dorian Williams aren’t cutting it. Williams is too raw and Dodson is too bad. They need a plug to try to stop the Linebacking boat from sinking.

Target: WR Hunter Renfrow, Las Vegas.

As I said, WR isn’t a massive problem, but it’s a position the Bills can absolutely look to upgrade at, and one man the Bills may look to is Las Vegas’ Hunter Renfrow.

Renfrow, a 5th round pick in 2019, was one of the best selections Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock ever made. A small slot receiver with great acceleration, Renfrow is very similar to a former friend of the Bills, that man being John Brown; Fast slot receiver who the Bills can Target deep. Renfrow is an average route runner, but makes up for it with his speed.

The Bills WR Grouping currently consists of Diggs, Davis, the under-utilized Khalil Shakir and a cavalcade of JAGs including Deonte Harty, Trent Sherfield, Justin Shorter and Andy Isabella. If the Bills wanted to secure their WR Corps, Renfrow would be a good fit, and due to his lack of production with Mike McDaniels, Raiders GM Dave Ziegler may look to move him on the cheap.

Targets: CB Jaylon Johnson & WR Darnell Mooney, Chicago.

Much like Denver, Chicago is mired in futility. The Bears have struggled immensely in 2023, with a D2 rookie QB outplayed Justin Fields so far this season. Much like Broncos GM George Paton, Bears GM Ryan Poles may look to execute a fire sale to a lesser degree.

Two guys who may look to be on the move are Jaylon Johnson and Darnell Mooney. Mooney is a fast slot receiver whose speed allows him to take the top off many defenses. Johnson is a very competent corner who could look to bolster a team’s DB group.

The Bills are a massive fan of cheap players, and these 2 guys are going to be very cheap as they’re both free agents at the end of the season. As an all in push, these 2 guys would be an excellent double pickup. Johnson could mitigate some of the pain the Bills corners have been feeling since the loss of Tre White, and Mooney could be a useful addition to a Bills Offense needing a player with breakneck speed to open up defenses.

Bills may move on from: CB Kaiir Elam.

Look, to put it bluntly, Kaiir Elam has been a poor selection for the Bills. Elam showed some promise in his rookie year, but has massively regressed in 2023. Whether it’s because he regressed or because the scheme changed only the team and God know, but it may already be time to move on from Elam.

Bills may move on from: WR Gabriel Davis.

Gabe Davis is one of those guys that makes me want to rip my hair out. A couple times a year, he will have games that make him look superhuman, like his game against Pittsburgh last year or the 13 second game, in which he caught 4 TDs. However, for the rest of the year he will be merely pedestrian

That’s not why he’s here though. His contract Is up at the end of the year, and with the Bills slammed ass-first against cap hell, we can’t afford to re-sign Gabe. He has value and potential, so if the Bills do look to move on they can definitely get a moderate package in return, and with Davis likely not a part of the Bills future, that’s the best option Brandon Beane has right now.
