How safe is the TD Garden for Lakers fans? I am possibly going to attend the Lakers vs. Celtics game this season. If not, I’ll go next season. It all depends on my friend’s schedule.
I don’t mind good-natured teasing and it is something I expect and is part of the fun of a rivalry. I also cheer for my team, but am not obnoxious about it or taunt the home fans. I’ve been to MSG several times to see the Lakers play the Knicks with no issues, but obviously that’s not a rivalry so it’s impossible to compare. I also know much of it depends on whether or not I’m unlucky enough to be near a random asshole, but I’m curious about what I should generally expect.
A work colleague of mine wore Rangers gear in Philly when they played the Flyers and had a brutal experience due to the rivalry, which is why I am asking. She had people flipping her off, someone threw a beer on her, and someone shoved her after the game since the Rangers won. She said she’s worn Rangers gear in Boston in the past without any issues, but that’s not as much of a rivalry compared to Lakers vs. Celtics.
Thanks in advance!
Been to hundreds of Celtics games, always see a few opposition jerseys in the crowd and never seen anyone treated badly. To be certain, you might avoid the last few rows of the balcony where you do a get groups of drunk guys sometimes.
