I’m interested in getting an AW and itll be my first smart watch, just a question about them

If I were to only get the WiFi edition of one, would I still see push notifications that come in from my phone? Like getting texts or a notification from an app like Snapchat for instance? I assume as long as its paired to my phone and my phone is nearby and connected to it, this will work no matter where I’m at. Or do I need the cell model for that feature?
