As lifelong fans of the burgundy and gold, it’s hard not to feel the winds of change blowing through our beloved franchise. The ongoing discussions about the team name and logo have sparked some passionate conversations, and I wanted to toss an idea into the ring that could bring about a fresh start while maintaining our cherished traditions. What if we rebranded as the DC Apache, in collaboration with the Apache Tribe?

The Vision: Imagine rocking the classic Redskins colors and logo but with a renewed spirit, paying homage to Native American culture in a way that’s respectful and inclusive. Picture the DC Apache storming the field, backed by a united fan base that honors not just our team’s legacy, but the diverse and rich history of Native American communities.

Fan Power: Our fan base is one of the most dedicated in the league, and this could be an opportunity for us to lead the charge in creating positive change. We’d need the tribe’s permission, of course, so let’s start a movement! Imagine the roar of the new stadium echoing the support for a partnership with the Apache Tribe to create a symbol that we can all rally behind.

Unity in the Nation’s Capital: Sure, the Apache weren’t in the DMV, but as the nations capital, we have the unique chance to represent and celebrate all Native American cultures. Let’s not just talk about change; let’s embody it. This rebranding could be a symbol of unity, acknowledging the roots of the sport and the diverse communities that make up our great nation.

Action Steps:

  1. Engage with the Tribe: We’d need the blessing of the Apache Tribe for this to work. Let’s start a respectful dialogue with tribal leaders, seeking permission and collaboration to make this vision a reality.
  2. Maintain Traditions: Keep the iconic Redskins colors and logo. This isn’t about erasing our history but evolving it into something that respects and represents everyone.

Conclusion: As fans, we have the power to influence the direction of our team. The DC Apache could be a symbol of unity, respect, and the enduring spirit of our fan base. Let’s make some noise, get the tribe’s blessing, and bring about a change that we can all be proud of.

Going with any native american or any race for that matter is just dumb. Dont even care if its something like red tails to honor a group. Itll offend people no matter what and is a terrible idea

Just go Red Wolves or back to Football Team
