I feel like Jokic, Giannas, and Luka have destroyed stats for me. Getting 36/16/9 is something I don’t even bat and eye at, I just go oh, they had a good game. NOT EVEN A GREAT GAME. Just a good game lmao. I remember a time that wasn’t too long ago, I’m talking like 2015 where 25/6/6 was a pretty insane stat that people were like damn. I really feel like stats stopped becoming so shocking when Harden and Russ were just getting 30 point triple doubles every night and Russ legit averaged a triple double for like 3 seasons or whatever. Before that nobody had averaged a triple double since Oscar Robertson in 1961!

Does anyone else feel this way? I don’t even know what is good anymore honestly or when I should be impressed.

It reminds me of when I was a kid watching MJ, I undervalued the hell out of all the other top stars of his era who had “pedestrian” scoring averages of like 25 ppg. It wasn’t until I looked back that I gained a strong appreciation of his contemporaries.

I think it’s harder today because news is constant and information is bombarding us all the time, we fans take for granted some of the legit special performances happening in the game. Plus, amazing stops feeling amazing if it happens too often.
