So I got the Accentums today and I did my research and found out that they use aptx HD codec. However, this won’t work with my phone since Samsung S23 doesn’t have aptx HD, it has the base aptx codec. So basically, my headphones could sound better but they’re being held back by my phone (?). I’m guessing that’s how it works, might be wrong, please correct me if I am. Now, don’t get me wrong, I am satisfied with the sound quality, Sennheiser is good and it makes me happy. As for the other aspects, the clamp force is a bit too tight but I get used to it after about an hour of wearing it but again I’m not used to wearing headphones as such. Now, with all this considered, should I keep the Accentum or should I get a replacement, like the Q45 which is still cheaper since either way I’m gonna only listen to aptx quality of sound and never aptx HD. Or should I just keep the Accentum and live with it? Gimme precious advice

99% likely you will not be able to hear the different between AptX and AptX HD anyway.

AptX is 16 bit 352kbps (compressed). that’s transparent enough for everyone. majority of people cannot tell the difference between 320kbps MP3 and 1411kbps WAV files (CD quality).

again with more modern codecs such as AAC, people cannot tell the difference between 256kbps AAC and 1411kbps WAV files. it’s a non issue.

So I got the Accentums today and I did my research

I say own it. you did your research. Accentum is a new release from Sennheiser. budget price just means less ANC and transparency ability and I heard a slightly bass boost sound compared to Momentum 4.

if I was shopping for a wireless headphone with good sound right now I would consider the Accentum as an option because it’s also within my budget.

Ykw, you’re right I definitely am happy with the sound and the ANC on it. It sounds fantastic and ANC does it’s job. When my volume is high, I can barely hear anything outside. And I had read some reviews saying that these headphones feel a bit more plasticky or rather even cheap plastic but ngl I felt it’s pretty solid plastic. It’s not as bad.

      Thank you!
