I get we’re only a month into the season, but do we think the Rockets should maybe shop around during the trade deadline? The team has played great and the young pieces we have are proven to be stars very soon in their careers. It wouldn’t hurt though to see an available superstar join our team and possibly complete the quest for our season.

I’d like to look at getting a better back up centre but not a superstar

Someone on this subreddit should keep a running timeline of all the wild shifts in fan perceptions (eg disapproval of Dillon signing, trading away KJ/TyTy/Garuba/Gup, bench/trade Jalen, trade/bench Jabari, and def more). Would be fun to look back at the end of the season.

How will anyone accept Jock back after how he’s played?

No, we’re not realistically competing this year so save assets for the draft or future trades when we’re closer and have better options available.

Just draft Clingan with the Nets pick and plug him into the backup center role next season. Let Jock & Bullock expire, promote Cam into the rotation, and run it back. Realistically, we’re not a contender this year, or probably next year either. When we’re approaching the 2025-2026 season, that’s when we need the make a big move, if necessary, to put us over the top into the S tier of the NBA.

Back up center is the only thing I’d be looking for. If we can’t find that, we’re rolling with what we have until the end of season.
