The explosion that killed and injured many civilians at al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza on October 17, 2023, resulted from an apparent rocket-propelled munition, such as those commonly used by Palestinian armed groups, that hit the hospital grounds, Human Rights Watch said today. While misfires are frequent, further investigation is needed to determine who launched the apparent rocket and whether the laws of war were violated.

    Well this:

It’s like if Ukraine decided to bomb a Russian music festival near the border before Russia invaded and committed dozens of war crimes.

    completely disproves this:

Yes I understand the power dynamics and history.

Did you know that Palestine doesn’t have a military? Peaceful protest is out of the question, so did you mean that Palestinian armed resistance should only attack Israeli miltary targets? That’s naive to the point of being absurd, given the reality of the situation and the power dynamics. If you’re interested in reality you can check out maps of how the Israeli occupation has expanded over the last 50 years (no, the confict didn’t start on October 7th).

“Both sides bad” is a cowardly way to side with the oppressor.

That being said, I do appreciate your response to my comment and I hope you take the time to answer my question about how you see Palestinian armed resistance to foreign occupation being executed, if indeed you do think they should resist.

War crimes War crimes include torture, mutilation, corporal punishment, hostage taking and acts of terrorism. This category also covers violations of human dignity such as rape and forced prostitution, looting and execution without trial.

      Crimes against humanity

Crimes against humanity are acts committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population, such as murder, deportation, torture and rape.

I’m not interested in your whataboutism. War crimes are war crimes whether it’s oppressor or oppressee.

I’ve noticed that the “both sides bad” argument doesn’t stand up to the least bit of scrutiny.

Sadly there aren’t “good guys” and “bad guys” in real life. Just people and their actions, for which they must answer.

Being part of the oppressed group doesn’t make Hamas free from criticism and judgement.

There are Palestinian groups working for peaceful solutions.

There’s also a far right terror group that decided to carry out a random attack on Israeli civilians that was instated by the Israeli government and rules through fear.

One group isn’t good just because another is bad. Figure it out
