I find it interesting how so many people see Kathleen Kennedy portrayed as the outright bad guy in the special. Going off the reactions from anti-woke youtube- who all talk about how she got OWNED, DESTROYED, OBLITERATED.

I interpreted the Cartman Kathleen Kennedy as an obvious horror- the woke monster that lives in the anti-woke crowd’s mind rent free personified. The clear final boss. Someone who only cares about diversity at a surface level- “put a chick in it and make her gay” just because. A Disney exec not interested in exploring the good side of diversity but in pandering alone.

But the normal Kathleen Kennedy actually seemed to be portrayed quite sympathetic even if naive. Sure she started the cycle by making movies with diversity, but it was Eric’s hateful reaction that created the woke/anti-woke cycle. Her intention was portrayed as good (“I just wanted to make good entertainment, but then you get piles of hatemail”), but misguided while Eric’s was portrayed as an extreme reaction. 10,000-13,000 hate mail letters? Those letters all complaining not about the writing or story, but about inclusion of diverse women- cause Eric is clearly portrayed as racist/sexist.

Down to the final city woke encounter. It points out all woke and anti-woke content is just a series of extreme reactions. Kathleen reacting to a few bigoted persons, who she thought was thousands of individual bigots. Who she thought she could fix by pandering more. While Eric fumed harder as she pandered more. They really created each other. Kathleen was reckless with franchises, while Eric was a bigot too passionate about those franchises.

Yet, I can’t help but feel Eric has more blame here in his portrayal. If he had complained about things like the storylines being bad like Kyle who rants about the laziness of the multiverse. Instead rather than resorting to complaints about diversity itself. Could it have been avoided? Would wokeness have gone full pandering if anti-wokeness hadn’t shown the ugliness of society?

Edit- Also people this is clearly about her character portrayal in the show’s message more than her real life blame. The regular her is portrayed pretty sympathetic in her goals. She even gets an apology from Eric of all people.
