The closest tag on the official forums is “networking” which I don’t think is relevant. I’m talking Paid, Unpaid, on Contract, Part Time, Full Time, the works.

When you meet with a person, or when any two human beings meet and interact directly, and exchange information it is called “networking”.

Developers and artists often need to specialize once they become skilled in a specific area so that they can cover for each others weaknesses and make bigger more difficult projects than they could alone.

This can cause confusion as I jokingly alluded to above because “networking” can also mean a computer to computer connection in modern language.

Not sure if LLM or just extremely condescending xD.

I think the word you’re looking for is ‘collaboration’, which can be a result of networking, where you meet people, with whom you may collaborate. My best bet would be in-person conventions such as godotcon, game jams, discord communities.

So first rule of networking is to be nice to each other. The games community is very small and people talk to each other. Epic dunks will get you Karma on reddit, but also plenty of bad karma in real life.

Anyway the caption made it confusing that why I asked, but I guess you want to network, because you’re looking for a job? So in early development stages we usually visit local community Playtesting Events (like Pizza Playtest in Munich). It helps with getting external feedback and validation for a prototype and getting to know your local games community. Some events are worth attending regardless of the development stage, like GodotFest or Gamescom.

I was wholly sincere in trying to give you context needed. And you appear to now understand very well so it was the correct context for you as well.
