Hello folks,

After lurking for a while, I thought I’d poke the bear and hear your guys’ opinion on a company I built. Last year, after someone in my entourage bought a fake watch through a reputable private seller on Chrono24, my friend and I came up with an idea that we thought could help eradicate fakes.

We set on building a software that could keep details of your watches securely on the blockchain.

And here’s where BAITA comes into the picture! It’s your ultimate watch verification sidekick, designed to ensure you’re getting what you paid for and not some knockoff.

How BAITA Works with ADs:

We’re currently teaming up with ADs to make sure you’re getting the stuff. When you purchase a watch from one of these ADs, they’ll give you a QR code linked to the specific watch, certifying its authenticity. This means you’ll know that the timepiece you’re eyeing is the genuine article.

Want to check the details? No problem. Just whip out your smartphone and scan the QR code linked to the watch and you’ll have all the nitty-gritty information about your timepiece. It’s simple, quick, and adds a layer of confidence when you’re investing in a new watch. It’s also browser based and requires no app of any kind.

This system also works great for selling your watches too! The metadata linked to the QR code is unique to that specific watch. So, when you’re ready to part ways with your timepiece, potential buyers can scan the code, and boom – they’ll instantly know they’re getting the real deal. It’s a win-win for both sellers and buyers, making the whole process more secure and hassle-free.

Let me know what y’all think about this idea and if you have any questions! If this interests you be sure to ask your local AD to partner with us!

What’s to keep an aftermarket seller from sending you a copy of a real QR code and a fake watch? It’s common for fake watches to use real serial numbers, and it makes them show up in the brand registration database.
