If you were the GM of the Pistons, what would you do to right the ship?

Hi Tim. First time, long time. Do you feel the pressure to work on your lower body often with a name like Legler? How often do you do calf raises? How much do you squat? Video proof preferred.

    Adam-

First off congratulations on all the success you’ve had with DNVR and All-City. My question:

Do you think there’s anything that the general NBA world is still not fully understanding about Nikola Jokic and his impact on the game?

    Keep up the great work!

For those who haven’t seen it yet: Adam and DNVR did a fantastic documentary on hoops in Serbia when they visited two summers ago. Check it out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeTmrsVW8qE

Love the question because you know the answer. Yes. The conversation around Jokic is so strange because so much of what is interesting about him as a person and player are under discussed on most of the large platforms. The intrigue about him isn’t always immediate and obvious, even if the passing makes highlights.

Jokic’s place in Serbian/Yugoslavian basketball tradition is very interesting, which is why I wanted to make A HUNDRED INVISIBLE THREADS. As my Serbian colleagues explained to me, Jokic didn’t just happen. He comes from a very rich line of basketball in Serbia that is influenced by a very interesting culture and tradition.

I think It is interesting to think about how little we know about Jokic the person and how that probably makes what we do know about him so much more interesting.

I think a lot of the best teams in the NBA are more team-oriented than the previous era. The Warriors are probably the biggest influence on this but the Spurs before them and the Nuggets most recently may be having an impact on what the new generation is aiming for. The Kings, Thunder, Magic, Pacers, all seem like they are growing in the image of Jokic and the Nuggets. Lots of young stars seem interested in forming “teams,” not just big 3s. We’ll see.

Obviously just the impact of having your center be the fulcrum of an offense is a trend we are seeing across the league. Sengun. Sabonis. Bam. And plenty others who are stepping out and playing the DHO game.

Legs: do you think NBA plays are more complex today or in your era?

Do you stand by your comments criticising sport media journalists? Do you think this had an effect on the downturn in your career?

Seriously, anyone who hasn’t been following this podcast needs to! It is incredible. The deep dives are so good, you get to learn a lot about teams other than your own, that you might not have enough to to follow.

Plus being able to actually interact with them live via the chat on youtube is awesome.

What are the major differences in the game today as compared to when you played?

Hi Tim, can’t think of anything interesting to ask. So just going to go for the boring question. Who do you think sixers should trade for at the deadline, also a lot of people think the sixers should also make an additional, smaller trade. Who do you think that should be, if you agree?

Hey! Thanks for hosting this AMA. I have loved your guys new podcast as well as the other ones you have been on, Old Man and the Three, DNVR etc. When are we gunna see the collab with Legs, Mares, and Reddick? I would love to see this as all of you have some great takes that are not just nationally focused.

Also did you see King Julian (Julian Strawther’s) block last night. Any thoughts on his defensive potential?

    Thanks!

The Washington Wizards have become one of the more clowned franchises in recent memory with their start to the 2023 season and some may argue this is the most people have talked about the Wizards in some time.

As a media pundit with ties to the Washington DC area, while maintaining a lack of bias as an analyst, how are you generally viewing the recent conversation around the franchise and DC sports as a whole?
