I’m still on a 10700k and skipped the whole Alderlake / Rapterlake / Raptorlake Refresh LGA 1700 platform. Just wondering how many Intel users out there also completely skipped the current platform and are waiting on what’s next in 2024.
I mostly just game at 4K 60fps and so far for the games I play my system is still holding up really well (paired with my rtx 3090). How about you guys?
Lol what i skipped
I7 3770 --> I912900k DDR3 1600 --> DDR5 6400 GT630 --> GTX 1050 --> RTX 2080s (while waiting for release of 4090) --> 4090
I’m coming from a 9700k and have just purchased a 14700k. It’s in a box with all the other bits ready to be put together.
I usually aim for 5-6 years from a system and my current system is just over 5.
Felt like the right time to make the move.
I know this is only Intel, but I have a 5950X (released same year as 10900K) and honestly I don’t plan to upgrade anytime soon, at least 3-4 years. Next cpu will be Intel most likely. I hope they have something good up their sleeves.
I’m still on my 2600k, I’m skipping every Intel generation apparently.
If you not having application performance issues related to your CPU then hold off until you are
Thats basically the correct way to look at it.
I had 10700, 10850 and then 12600 and 12600 was much much better than even 10850, it noticeable even in windows.
