The Colts’ record since the Christmas win vs Arizona in 2021. For those who still believe Ballard should be the general manager of an NFL football team. Please explain your reasoning. We have won a hair over 27% of our games in the last ~2 years. There is zero context that could make this result acceptable. This is the culmination of 5 years of roster building up until that Christmas win. At that point, we were well over two years removed from Luck’s retirement, so his pass for that had long since ran out.
We have failed to win the division even just once in his entire tenure.
That’s fine if people want to fire him. I don’t think he will be or should be, but I understand why people want to go a different direction
Because the record isn‘t pure on the GM. I mean i could be the chiefs GM for the next 4 years and a would but very likly above .500, but that wouldn’t make me a better than Ballard. He had the best draft class in the 2018 draft and another two Top 5 draft classes in 2020 and maybe this year (way to early).
Ballard sure can draft (for the most part) but getting guys in the building via free agency or trading for them sure isn’t his strong point. Countless DB’s/CB/WR’s have been traded for in the league over the past few years - has Ballard made any move to shore up these troubled spots (other than via the draft)?
The so-called Doomers (me being one of them) were all over Reich well before he was fired.
Now the Doomers have turned their attention towards Ballard.
Maybe we’re on to something that you all just cannot fathom for whatever reason?
AFC South has been absolute dogshit for several years. Reich didn’t do shit without Andrew Luck. Ballard hasn’t done shit without Andrew Luck. Yes, we are trending upward on Offense with AR/Downs/JT (questionable contract and all) but we have hit rock bottom on defense at this point.
