Australia’s “antisemitism envoy” Jillian Segal has released a new report claiming that the primary threat to Jews in our country comes from left-wing pro-Palestine activists, which Segal hilariously labels “issue-motivated antisemitism”.
Segal repeatedly warns that antisemites are guilty of the “conflation” of Jewish people with the state of Israel while also repeatedly going out of her way to lump Jews in with support for the Israeli state, complaining of the view that “anyone who identifies as a Zionist is themselves fundamentally wicked, notably including the overwhelming majority of Jewish Australians who, as an inextricable part of their Jewish identity, hold a belief in the right of Israel to exist.”
To help curb the actions of the “issue-motivated” antisemites, Segal recommends the implementation of exclusion zones for protesters, a ban on face coverings for demonstrators, extra review measures for people who are in this country on visas, and extra oversight of public broadcasters the ABC and SBS to ensure fair and balanced coverage of Israeli atrocities.
As you might expect, the Australian press are dutifully regurgitating Segal’s left-punching propaganda with zero pushback. The Australian ran the story on the new report with the headline “‘Pervasive progressive hate’: antisemitism envoy’s new blueprint,” while The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald went with “New wave of Australian antisemitism comes from progressive social justice critics, says antisemitism envoy.”
So she’s conflating being pro-genocide with being Jewish (without any evidence whatsoever) in order to claim it is antisemitic to be anti-genocide, and then complaining about people making the conflation? That seems a bit hypocritical. She might hang out in pro-genocide right-wing circles, but I think if she went outside her bubble she’d find that the majority of people, Jewish and not, are actually anti-genocide. If she talked to organisations like the Jewish Council, she’d know that: https://www.jewishcouncil.com.au/2026/10/jewish-council-slams-special-envoys-trumpian-roadmap-for-antisemitism
And when people complain about Zionism, they don’t mean they are opposed to people born on the land continuing to live in the state there as equals with the people with ancestral ties to the land, only to the ongoing violence and settlement outside of the 1949 lines. They mean the genocide in Gaza, and the treatment of people in the West Bank and Lebanon. It’s not even about Israel, it’s about the evil far-right extremists in control of it using it as a vehicle for atrocities.
I urge you to look inward and try to wonder why you think that the colonialism and ethnic cleansing prior to 1949 was okay, but after 1949 suddenly it became bad. “Israel” sits on stolen palestinian land. Every inch of it.
Prior to “Israel” coming in and slaughtering and displacing palestnians Palestine was occupied by the British:

Then prior to that it was a region in the ottoman empire:

Notice how Israel is not mentioned in these periods? That is because it didn’t exist. It is a Zionist invention. Israelis are settlers. Yes, that includes the ones born there. If thousands of Americans invaded Germany and took over Munich the children they bore there would not be German. They would not be entitled to the land their parents stole. Why should this be any different?
So yes, I oppose the existence of Israel at a fundamental level, and you should too.
It’s not even about Israel, it’s about the evil far-right extremists in control of it using it as a vehicle for atrocities.
Every government of Israel has been far right extremists
1949 borders is very much Zionism and your comment is Zionist.
Yes, Most Jews are in fact Zionists

Way past the time the public starts luiging ghouls like that
