Hello all - I am turning to Reddit because I am at a loss as of what to do.
We currently have Spectrum gig internet, use a spectrum Modem (model EN2251) and have a mesh network using the Eero Pro 6E router with two subsidiary nodes in other rooms.
We have had general moments where our WiFi goes out, but I am most impacted on my PC.
I seem to be able to connect to the internet, but at random points - like 3 days in a row every 10 days, I start having strange internet problems particularly when gaming or streaming. I will immediately check my ping and packet loss which almost always is around 25ms, 0% ish packet loss, and 800-900mb/s download speed.
Yet during gaming for instance, I will completely DC. I’ll hear sound (new sound) in the game for a few moments and then get kicked off, likely for losing connection. What it seems like is that I am receiving signals still, but stop sending it.
Modem > Gateway Eero (via ethernet)> PC (Ethernet)
Long story short, spectrum has been out half a dozen times and we’ve had EVERYTHING replaced. New line buried from the pole, new coax around the house, relatively new modem, new Ethernet cords, and the eero is only a few months old.
At this point, I think it has to be a networking problem - some kind of setting within the eero perhaps that I’ve done wrong. Looking for any insight or stories that might have another thing I can try messing with.
tl;dr - Connectivity issues in game but no ping/packet/download issues. Eero pro 6E and spectrum modem (recently replaced).
