Do you think it would’ve been useful to come in a day or few days this week or is it the more useful to have the full week off? He’s given the team off for a full week the last few years. Prior to that, the players used to come in until Tuesday or Wednesday; then they had off till the following Monday.

I went back and forth between thinking this is good and bad. It might’ve been helpful to come in Mon/Tues to review tape, game plans, situational stuff, etc. But I think I’ve settled on this is the right move. They’ve had a lot of travel, been in tough battles, and the bye is late. Also, they have an upcoming west coast trip for a game on Christmas Day against the 49ers and a game on New Year’s Eve against the Dolphins.

Would be cool if there was an easy way off seeing how other teams manage the amount of days off during their Bye. It would be interesting to see how long players have off, their season record, their performance the game after the bye, etc.

Isn’t resting what the bye week is for? Jeez, these guys are human not machines.

Also coaches will still be working/game playing all week, so there’s that. I just think the fact that it’s a late bye, a lot of traveling and currently being the #1 seed and in good position to finish strong, all factored into Harbs decision. Players need the physical and mental break

Armchair redditor questioning one of the most tenured and successful NFL head coaches in the league. LOL

Let them rest and heal up.

I am sure more than a few will study film for the Rams. I am sure more than a few will hit the gym.

I don’t much, if any, will become couch potatoes eating Ding Dongs all day.

It’s called rest dude. They’ve played 12 straight. This is a great way to get healthier and also recalibrate psychologically. There are 5 games left in the season along with hopefully 3 to 4 playoff games depending on how things play out. That’s 9 games max. The way I see it, it’s time to go 9-0 and be the team we thought we could be. Time off like this will allow players to lock back in on accomplishing the task ahead

Oh look, another genius who thinks he knows how to manage and run the team better than the long-tenured head coach.

Yeah honestly I think it’s a bit unusual, I’m not really sure what the logic behind it is so I don’t know how to judge it. I was under the impression teams used that extra week to prep extra stuff. Maybe the coaches will be cooking stuff while the players are off, maybe health was a greater concern than any prep work, I can only guess.
