He has not been the offensive wizard some of you make him out to be. Not even close. And when anyone tries to criticize him in this sub they get downvoted and are called dumb, even though his play calling has been at times atrocious. Like Austin ekeler running slant routes, or the constant inside runs with him for 2 yards, giving derius davis all of these end arounds instead of sending him on a go route, etc. Also, In every single final drive we’ve had in our losses, the defense sends the house and herbert gets blown up. How hard is it to have a tight end or a running back chipping someone??? Especially with pipkins clapp and zion struggling like they have. I thought this problem wouldve been solved after the first 3 times it happened lmfao. I just know the defense of our opponents have a field day in their film sessions watching this offense break the fuck down the same way each game. You do not see this consistently happening in a shanahan or mcvay offense, and moore is treated like hes one of them. It’s fucking ridiculous. And i dont wanna hear excuses about injuries. Every team deals with injuries, its the coaches job to overcome them. The great ones always do. He is not deserving of the interim or a permanent head coaching job in the future, i do not care what the stats say. Any success the offense has had has been from herbert and allen doing their thing. Bottom line. and thats been the case for the previous 2 coordinators as well(even tho i liked steichen, he had kalen ballage looking serviceable behind a depleted oline). cough cough Its been said in here before but I’ll reiterate: there is a reason the cowboys let him go. Their offense didnt even miss a beat, but this is really on staley since he hired him. A shit coordinator and an average at best coordinator paired with a shit defense for an entire coaching tenure. Charger football baby
He’s like the Brandon Staley of offensive playcallers, maybe a bit better overall. Someone who can clearly call innovative and clever plays but struggles to bring together a unit that’s strong in the trenches, leading to inconsistency on a drive-to-drive basis and failure in high leverage moments.
