What if we replaced Melton with Bridges? What would we need to give up to give him?
I’m not a “Big3” kinda guy. I look at what the Nuggets did, what the Bucks did and I’m hoping this team can emulate that. Its been a while since I’ve watched Nets games, is Bridges considered ball dominate? If not we should go all in on him. Above all else we need consistency, a second ball handler and good defense. I think Bridges fits all of those qualities, plus when Maxey sits he can go off and keep things afloat. I know he getting star player treatment but Im hoping he can do for us what MPJ did for the nuggets, if he can fit that role then this team will be built to last.
Thoughts?
The other 2 guys on his level that got traded at his age that I can think of are Deron williams and Donovan Mitchell. 2 first round picks plus the previous years #3 pick, Derrick favors, and a mediocre starter in devin harris for Deron. A ton of picks and prospects for Mitchell. Bridges doesn’t have the resume of those guys but he’s signed long term & there was a rumor that the nets turned down 4 firsts for him
I don’t think it’ll take as much as you would think. Offer to take Ben back, see how that goes if he can come back as a role player with a clean slate.
it is not happening, you can stop dreaming.
Nets don’t control their own picks. They can’t tank. So, they won’t trade Mikal to us for picks.
Unless you want to offer Maxey or Embiid, they will not even engage in trade converstation with us
It will take Mikal to request a trade and to work closer to his mom in Philly and that will give us about a 13.4% chance we get him.
Offer 3 1st, unprotect the 1st you previously traded them, then offer 2 pick swaps and a half dozen 2nds. Maybe they’d go for it.
He’s not coming here the nets hate us especially after the harden traded because there were reports that they felt like they got fleeced because Ben Simmons has not been hisself
