so i’m a newcastle united fan and we were robbed in overly long extra time, where the referee only ended when psg equalised, crushing our hopes of knockout UCL but we are very likely to secure europa league football, thing is though, i’m not exactly keen on swapping out playing milan and dortmund for maccabi haifa and sheriff tiraspol, anyone relate or able to convince me to be motivated about europa league?

    Pope was the reason you got a point against Milan and then you played like shit home and away against Dortmund. Even if all the stars align and you end up in the round of 16 (which is still possible, but I doubt you know it), your park the bus team will get destroyed by teams like Real Madrid, Bayern or Inter. You’re just a small oil club that was lucky to play and win against another small oil club.

    Also since you wanted motivation about the Europa League, not only the teams you mentioned play there, but also Leverkusen, Villareal, Betis, Liverpool, West Ham, Brighton, Roma etc. So there are plenty of good and exciting teams, you’re just too afraid that you’re gonna get destroyed.
