We all know Mac Jones is not performing good this season and is currently a bottom 10 QB. However how much of Mac Jones’s performance can be attributed to himself and how much can go into coaching? Mac Jones has been in the league for 3 years and has had 3 different quarterback coaches which is literally a different qb coach a year since being in the league. Not only that he has different offensive coordinators from Josh McDaniels his first year to Matt Patricia who literally has zero experience in the job. On top of that the Patriots roster is just not that good in general with injuries making things worse.

I am not trying to defend Mac Jones and say that he is absolved of all blame. He has shown difficulties reading differences and decision making, but I am wondering how much of his performance can be attributed other factors. When Josh McDaniels was the OC, Mac Jones looked decent and went to the Pro Bowl so I do still think that he has potential.

I seriously believe that anyone who still thinks Mac Jones’s bad performance is due to the offensive line and coaches hasn’t been watching the games.

The OL is better now than they were compared to the first 8 weeks of the season, but I think it’s pretty obvious that getting killed for nearly 2 months has destroyed Mac’s confidence in himself and the team around him. Just look at his tape from the first 3 weeks compared to now. It’s like watching a completely different QB.
