There has been a lot of discourse recently about the play of individual players and the team at large.
Caitlin Cooper, formerly of Indy Cornrows currently freelance on Patreon (linked below), has covered the Pacers for years and is one of the best basketball minds I have found in the media space. Listening to Caitlin is such a humbling experience because if you’re anything like me, you realize very quickly how little you actually know about basketball.
She recently went on a podcast called the Dunker Spot (Spotify link below), to discuss the early returns on the Pacers season. This was pre-Hawks I think, but still very relevant. If you’re interested in learning about WHY the defense has been so bad, but also why the offense has been otherworldly, please consider supporting such a standout local journalist.

Honestly, that’s part of my point, though. I listen and then go back and Google the terms she uses that I don’t understand. It’s the only reason I know the differences between Chicago/pistol/Spain actions and ghost/flare/blur/elevator screens among a variety of other topics.
I think it’s fine to choose to not get that in-depth though, because I will never get that way about hockey even though I love my Kraken. I just think it’s still important for all of us to recognize that we don’t know what we don’t know. Lol
