Hi y’all! So I recently started a cookie business and i’ve made a couple sales but I was reading up on how to increase sales, and get exposure and I saw some comments recommending real estate agents, hospitals, car dealerships, farmers markets. My question is, how would I reach out to the hospitals, car dealerships and farmers markets asking if I can setup on their property every so often. And for the real estate agents, do I just call them and tell them I can provide snacks (cookies) for free for them to put out for clients??? and do you all think it’d be impolite to also ask the agents if i can leave business cards next to the cookies or something? Thank you

I would suggest to start posting on social media like Instagram, TikTok. Post reels about how your cookie is made, how is it different and better than other cookies. On Facebook, you can join Facebook groups of small businesses where they have weekly posts about promoting business. This is all about organic stuff. You need more eyes on social media as well and these points can help you a lot. Short videos like reels and tiktoks are getting better organic reach. This will create demand for your cookies. It sure takes time but if you’re in it for the long term, this will definitely help you out.

You can also try ads on Facebook with $5 a day ad budget. Go slow see how the response it and move ahead.

Look at your competition too on how they’re doing it on social media, do something on those lines.

And one more thing, check out Bro Dough account on Tik Tok, they have done almost all their sales organically on Tik Tok, visiting local business conferences creating networks, participating in local exhibitions and so on.

For offline, I think you can approach coffee shops, local corner shops, send them samples see their response and move ahead.

I might be wrong with these suggestions as I don’t know exact model of your business, but others might be able to help better.

I would recommend not doing anything for free, but if you really want to, maybe cater family/friends’ events? If the family and friend has a large following on instagram on Tiktok, even better. They can post on their page and you can start getting followers. Samples may be ok, but you’re running a business and not a charity. I also feel it devalues the product. Social media presence for small biz is the way to go.
