Nice. Suns made the in season tournament.

The reward? You get to play extra games against the best teams in the league. You also get the reward of playing 1 or 2 extra road games.

And if you make the Finals you have to play an extra game. As if 82 games isn’t enough.

I like the idea of the tournament. But the reward should be much more than just $500k.

I think the team that wins the tournament should get playoff rewards. Make it mean something.

The reward should increase based on how the team finished the season.

Tournament rewards:

Don’t make the play-in: get an automatic bid in the play in.

Make the play in: Get the 6th seed automatically.

Get a seed 6 or higher. Automatically get 1 seed higher. So if you win the tournament and end the season with the 3 seed you get rewarded with the 2 seed.

If you are the 1 seed you get home court in the Finals

If you already have the best record in the league you get the first pick in the second round

Jumping up a seed isn’t an extreme reward. Because the tournament is 7 games if you win it. That is a significant portion of the season
