Hey all, i have a gaming PC with a WiFi card on the second floor of my apartment, with the router and ONT on the first floor opposite side, near the ethernet port.

I’ve been upset with the wireless speeds, seeing as it’s going through a floor and wall, and read about MOCA - i have a coaxial next to my router and next to my PC, so i thought why not?

I then ventured down and realized I have the AdTran 411 ONT, which connects directly to my router.

The ONT only has the single ethernet port, and since it doubles as my “modem”, is it possible to set up MOCA?

I’d like to not spend $700 on adapters, but i don’t see any other way. I’d have to continue to have the router and ONT connected, and somehow weasel a MOCA between the two that then connects to that coaxial cable - then i need a second one near the PC. What’s the correct order? Is it worth doing?

Chances are that coax cable is old as hell and would probably cause you far more trouble than it’s worth. You should run an ethernet cable.

An ethernet cable solves all of your issues. I’m not sure why this isn’t the first solution you thought of.
