If the Eagles win vs SF, they’re really only competing with Dallas for the #1 overall seed.

Even if the Eagles lose the Dallas game, that would put them at 11-2 and Dallas at 10-3 (assuming they beat Seattle). Dallas has a really tough stretch of @ Buffalo, @ Miami, vs. Detroit. We can assume they drop at least one of those games.

Should the Eagles lock up the #1 seed by end of week 17, they would only have the week 18 game vs New York @ Met Life. It just makes me incredibly nervous seeing all the season ending injuries that have happened on Met Life turf in the last three seasons (Aaron Rodgers, Jaelan Phillips, Kyle Fuller, Jabrill Peppers, Blake Martinez, Jimmy G, Wandale Robinson, Nick Bosa, Raheem Mostert, Sterling Shepard x2).

I know you want to keep the starters fresh but I just can’t justify having one of our key starters play even a couple snaps on the meaningless turf. On the other hand though, two weeks off and three weeks of football make a lot of people think the team would be rusty come playoff time.

What would your ideal approach be assuming the Eagles lock up HFA before week 18?
