What is Mike Florio’s (PFT) reasoning for posting endless articles about David Tepper and our organization? He has been pushing the Stroud was Reich’s choice narrative for weeks and how none of this is Reich’s fault. Does he have some sort of history with Reich or is he just capitalizing on clicks?

Note: I am not a Tepper supporter, but firing Reich was the right move.

Florio writes tons of articles about everything. They are usually poorly written, poor researched, and show that he has little more than surface level information on what he’s talking about.

I believe Florio is doing his best reporting. He’s trying to get to the bottom of the dysfunction.

I think bc this media market isn’t used to all the scrutiny, that some are put off with the spotlight and questioning.

Could you imagine if Tepper owned a NY team? The press would be more forceful in their questions.

This has always been his thing. What’s crazy to think about is how much bolder he’s gotten over the past 10 years.

For instance Jeff Lurie from 2011-2016, he starts talking about Lurie making a mistake by saying the Eagles were the gold standard and that it was a self-inflicted wound that will continue to haunt him until his attitude changed. Then the his patience on Andy Reid running thin, then is overbearing determination to find a QB and even going to QB draft visits adding a different air of pressure, then to him making a mistake by giving Chip Kelly too much power, then firing Chip Kelly after the personnel conversation.

Writing that out made me laugh a bit since he obviously loves writing the same thing about most franchises lol. He said some intense stuff about Shad Kahn, Stephen Ross, Snyder, Kroenke, Mark Davis, and obviously Jerry Jones.

One of the most annoying things he said is that no coach will want to come here because they want a QB taller than 6’. We just watched Sean Payton go to the Broncos where Russell Wilson had an awful season last year and the guy is only a half inch taller than Bryce

I don’t like Florio but I find it eminently believable that the owner held an outsized amount of influence on who went 1.1, directly or indirectly. This fanbase often struggles with the concept of “two things can be true.”

Forget where I read it (last few days have been a whirlwind of nationally covered Panthers stories, which is…not the norm) but someone somewhere made a pretty decent point on Bryce being the “unanimous” pick as MR TEPPER claimed in his presser. If you’re BuckFitty, Morgan, Reich, anyone on the scouting staff, etc., you are not going to voice a dissenting opinion in the war room that Stroud (or AR, or whoever) is the pick when ol’ Brass Balls already made his opinion clear. Same as the Jones failsons and their reports don’t speak up over Jerruh. You don’t have to issue a mandate to influence opinion when you’re the owner.

Think about it this way. What are the odds that among the GM, assistant GM, coaching staff, college scouts, etc, it was truly unanimous that Bryce was the pick? I mean, there were still conflicting reports on who was going to go right up until draft night – obviously some of that was smoke, but when you have 1.1 and aren’t looking to trade, what’s the need for smoke? I find it pretty intellectually dishonest to think that an entire NFL FO came to the exact same opinion on a group of non-generational QB prospects. Not one Stroud or AR vote in the room? Or a Will Anderson/Jalen Carter guy to mix things up? I find that pretty hard to believe tbh.

    Cue the downvotes in 3, 2, 1…

Profootballtalk had a good run in the early 2000’s, days without an arrest counter, picture of the day and of course the cesspool that was the comment section…when I say cesspool I mean it in the highest regard!

IDK if he loves Reich, but he’s got a major hateboner for Tepper lol
