Like a lot of you, I was calling for a total tear down at last years trade deadline and in the off-season. Had AKME went in that direction, it would make sense that whatever set of players would be on the team this year would be 5-13.
But that’s not what AKME did, and yet they are 5-13. With it seeming likely that Zach gets traded soon, it seems like the team is not getting any better this year. The best thing we can hope for at this point is for the L’s to keep piling up so that we can get a high lottery pick next year. Right now they are 5th in the tank standings. Assuming Zach is traded, I hope that DeMar, Vucevic and Caruso are traded too. Jevon Carter and Torrey Craig can be trade pieces as well. Please do all that AKME. No one cares about going for the 10th seed.
One player in the 2024 draft isn’t going to help much. This roster is void of any young talent. It’s going to take at least 5 years to be competitive again, assuming AKME makes good draft picks, which they’ve shown incapable of doing.
