Hey All. I know I’ve likely shared this before but I’m living through tendonitis in my right arm and hand and Cubital tunnel in my left. Meaning I can only use my arms for so long before I start experiencing pain. This puts things into perspective for me as an artist and as a teacher, so I’ve accepted that I need to narrow the scope of games that I can play, mostly with the left hand when it’s not in pain.

At this point I’ll likely be limited to turn based games, some puzzle games, visual novels and perhaps some action games that don’t require camera movement. So I’m thinking on which system would be better to experience these games on between the systems I have, namely the Switch, the Steam Deck, and the Surface computer. I do have a PS4 also but I’m trying to make my life a bit more mobile as well. If anyone could share insight on what would be more suitable for my situation I’d appreciate it. Thanks.

RPGs are a pretty broad group of games, but seeing as you said turn-based, I’m guess PC would be your best bet. It has a wider selection of games with indies being able to publish easily, and access to a lot of older games (emulated and not) from before real-time became standard. Between Steam Deck and the Laptop, I’d say its mostly down to personal preference. A Windows system will have access to more games, but the Steam Deck is more portable.
