Ever since I got my steam deck a couple of months ago, there’s has been something bothering me at insane levels, I’m the kind of person who likes to have everything synced up across devices: progress, achievements, time played, etc; so that Steam Deck was the perfect option for me to complement my gaming pc so i could game on the go and/or in long trips. A week later having my Steam Deck I noticed the problem.
Every time you play on Steam Deck offline it will track your time played as normal, but the moment you connect it to the internet all of that info will be completely gone, it will sync achievements, progress and all of that, but time played will be reseted to where it was before playing offline. I CAN’T UNDERSTAND IT. It bothers me so much.
I learned it the hard way, I played Batman Arkham Assylum for a whole weekend outside home without connecting to the internet and went from 2 hours of playtime to 10 hours, just to arrive at home and see that it had reverted to 2 hours again, so at the end my playthrough lacks aproximately 8 hours of playtime out of no reason (as shown in the photo it should be 20 hours more or less and it actually says 11.7 hours); at first i thought i had lost all my progress too but it just is time played that doesn’t sync online, it surprised me actually.
I wanted to see if I’m too obsessed with stats and i’m the only one bothered with this, or if anyone is bothered too and can relate. I also don’t know why Steam doesn’t fix this as I’ve had red it’s been like this for a long time, maybe it isn’t a quick/easy fix so they don’t even care I don’t know.
Wat do you all think?
