Getting a prime aged superstar via trade is slim to none, and I am not talking about some 30 something year old washed dude, how are we going to get a guy like Giannis, Luka, Jokic etc. unless we draft and develop. We keep trading out of the draft, and since we are not a lottery team we need to really find a diamond in the rough.
Other than that, we need to chase a star that would be a large wing, efficient, reliable, must be able to defend properly as well. We have some really great role players, but JB needs a true star or two to make shit happen. I am cool with trading Julius, Grimes, maybe even Josh, but I am dead set on keeping IQ, and I would like to hang on to RJ to see how he pans out, but if another team needs him, I say take him.
It is not totally insane for gritty excellent role players to make a deep run, maybe even get lucky, but at the end of the day you need consistent and reliable guys. Condense and get one!
I voted 4. Thibs is a good coach and definitely has helped set the foundation for what this team could be but I don’t think our iso heavy offensive raises the ceiling of this team imo. I think he is top tier in terms of getting guys prepared for games but his in game adjustments is sort of lacking imo and he kind of always rides with his initial game plan especially come playoff time. I kind of cooled off on him being fired but I def don’t think we should extend him.
Thibs needs certain players that fit his system in order to be success vs working with players and finding ways to utilize their strengths.
Thibs was on the hot seat last season, made some changes, made things good. I think it was just a band-aid, and I do not think he should be extended, but we still have 2 season with him including this one.
However credit to where it is due, he has done an amazing job with what he had to work with when he started.
For sure. I just don’t believe he raises the teams ceiling come playoff time imo
the Knicks do everything well but they dont do anything elite, besides mitch and offensive rebounds. in the playoffs you’ll need to face elite and perform elite to make it far
I Love this team and I like thibs but not even Moses could lead them to the promise land.
It’s becoming a tradition right after a big W its always “Can this team go all the way?” “Etc. Etc. 04 Pistons” it ain’t happening folks. This team still lacks star power. Can dream all u want, can name all the exceptions but the rule says otherwise.
