I believe the whole pandering thing is the americans’ desperate attempt on pleasing a specific group of people (black people mostly) so they can feel Guilt-free for what they did in the past history, and has nothing to do with bringing actual diversity to the pop culture.

If you ask me, the 90’s movies had plenty of representation of minorities without pushing it as a whole agenda on you.
