The Detroit Pistons have been my lifelong team, as I was born in Michigan but I’ve never really been around for the glory days. From The Bad Boys to the Going to Work crew, the Pistons have had an identity that has resonated with Detroit while also being true to themselves.

When you press the restart button, it’ll destroy that identity and anyone who has seen them play this season can notice that they’ve got talented players but nothing so far has seemed to be sticking. With that said, everyone can moan and groan about how they suck, how Weaver needs to be fired, how they need to make a homerun trade, etc.

While I don’t disagree, we, the fans, can’t impact the front office, ownership or anything else. What we the fans can do is BE THERE FOR THEM. What do y’all think? Should we choose a date and just cheer loudly, from the start to the end, blow out or win? It’s clear that things are rough but I want to be able to DO SOMETHING. And shitting on them won’t do anything, but I think supporting them might. Just to kick start something for them.

Joel Klatt said that the fans lifted “Michigan up off the matt” when Zak Zinter, a captain and leader of the Football Team went down, and I feel like we have the opportunity to do the same thing. The Pistons have hit rock bottom, it’s time for Detroit to lift them up from the pits of despair.
