Speedometer on bmw 2012 m650i not working any ideas on what it could be?

My dad recently got a BMW 2012 m650i on auction he replaced the engine since the other one got flooded. There is a problem with the speedometer it doesn’t work. Also front passenger seat recline doesn’t work. Any ideas on what these problems could be and how to fix them?
