I noticed RB Leipzig is not allowed to use Red Bull in the name and even had to alter the logo but Leverkusen has the Bayer name and logo in their crest. How comes?

Because the club was founded by the company’s employees well before the Bundesliga even existed, let alone the 50+1 rule.

The name and the logo are have always been an intrinsic part of the team’s identity.

While RB just bought off a random German team, renamed, gave it new logos and colours, etc just to expand and advertise their brand.

Is Bayer a corportation? I always thought it was just part of the naming of German clubs, like “Bayern” Munich.
