Really liked what I saw from him, the three ball he made he shot with no hesitation and it was wet. I don’t know if he will remain on the team long-term; I think someone like Minnesota could really use him, especially since it’s doubtful they’ll be able to retain Kyle Anderson beyond this season.

When he’s hot, he’s as hot as anybody in the league and can do it at all three levels. It’s just so frustrating how he’s not a better finisher at the rim, bc he has the best first step in the game and is a walking paint touch. It’s largely a matter of consistency and the game slowing down for him, and I think next season will finally be the year where it all comes together.
Sengun in a “bad game” posted 22-7-5, he’s the best player from the 2021 class to me. You can make an argument for Franz, Scottie and Mobley, but I’m taking Alpy bc if I need a bucket down the stretch, he’s the one I feel most confident on delivering.

15 straight L’s. I hate myself for not curbing my enthusiasm for this Pistons team when they started 2-1 lol, thought this really could be a year of stepping forward for them.
I think I’m just gonna be a Suns fan or something this year. Fuck this team
Maybe I should make a full post if anyone is interested, but these are my thoughts not only from the game, but the season as a whole having watched the majority of them:
- Everybody on this team is underqualified with their roles. Cade can be a pretty good player in this league, but he’s being asked to be something that he’s not, and you can tell it’s weighing on him heavily. I like Ausar, but the truth is he probably should be coming off the bench for someone who can stretch the floor and defend a little bit to start off with Cade and Ivey. Beef Stew should be a bench big and nothing more. He’s a good shooter, but teams don’t respect it, and his defense is overrated. I could go on, but in general, everyone is being asked to do too much.
- I don’t think Detroit got it wrong (for the most part) in terms of their draft picks. Even Killian in a vacuum was a sound choice at the time. The issue is the roster construction outside of those picks. There are like 5-6 guards on the team, while you have Ausar, Bogdan, and Umude as your wings. Two of them can’t shoot, and the other is among the worst defenders in the league. Only Charlotte’s frontcourt depth is worse, and while Duren has a lot of potential, he’s just not there defensively at this stage.
- This team is mentally defeated. Monty said after the game this team struggles with adversity, and while perhaps he shouldn’t have said it, he’s not wrong. This is easily the worst team many of them have ever been on and you can see it’s taken a toll.
- Weaver just needs to be fired, and maybe Monty as well. There is no excuse for a team four years into their rebuild to be this bad. Someone said it on Twitter the other day, Weaver took a gamble that what he had on his squad was enough, and that is a bet that has gone horribly wrong.
