Mostly everyone knows that at a high rank in OW2 on console, you’re going to run into someone using a Xim or Cronus anti recoil or whatever. It’s unfair, a good mnk player is going to stomp you unless you have like two pockets. I was one of the first Xim Apex users to ever touch Overwatch, I knew the first couple guys who essentially started all this shit. I remember when the number of Ximmers in OW was like single digits including me. The reason Xim spreads like fucking wildfire is because you see someone using it and you feel obliged to get one otherwise you are at a disadvantage. The reason I got a Xim and many of the original Ximmers got one was because we were all broke ass kids who couldn’t afford PCs but wanted to play on mnk. But now that these adapters are mainstream and sold at your local hardware store, people just use them to stomp others or to level the playing field.

I don’t want to fear monger but unless third party devices are banned outright on consoles, this will never be fixed. I’m talking wireless headphones and controllers from other companies with extended sticks and paddles; these could be banned. The reason is that anti cheat will never catch up to these adapters because the manufacturers and their communities are always two steps ahead. Remember how they ’banned‘ Ximming in Rainbow Six Siege through mousetrap but it did nothing, the lead technician at Xim Technologies already had a planned update before the announcement of the ban. I would know since I frequent the Xim Technologies forums and I talk to the creator sometimes. I hate to admit this but the creator of Xim Technologies, he is a programming genius.

Another point is that these companies make controllers too, and they are also a massive advantage with altered aim assist values, auto fire, macros, extra buttons, orbital aim, etc. Would that be considered cheating, and how do you differentiate between those controllers and say a Scuff controller which many people consider legit. If kbm is banned somehow, then the industry will just shift to these controller mods which still give a massive advantage and then we have the problem all over again. If you don’t believe me, search up Xim’s new Xim Nexus; it’s an insane controller and many people would not consider it legit even though it’s not mnk.

That’s why it’s either this forever, or the console community of almost every single competitive shooter game needs to band together to heavily limit third party hardware. Although it may come at the cost of your favorite controller mods.

Do you also know what‘s fucked up; a Xim Apex or Xim Matrix costs less than an Elite controller or a Scuff controller by like $100. So why would anyone buy those instead of buying a Xim or Cronus?
