Newish wedding photographer and videographer. Iv been successfully booking 6-7 weddings a year for 2 years now. I am looking to continue this if not book more. Times are tough as everyone’s aware in Ontario, Canada. I work full time and have a wife and daughter. I’ve gotten most of my booking from friends and Facebook wedding groups. Iv tried ads on Facebook and Google and nothing, no bites. Not sure I’m doing it right. Website could be the problem as I did it myself. We don’t have much money to invest and booking more would really help out. We need a second vehicle living in rural Ontario but it will make us almost breaking even, I’d like to not count my business money to the equation as it is risky. But I have been averaging $16,000 but am afraid to assume I will make that if not more in 2024. I am confident in my work, just not on the economy. What Is my best course of action?
How well do you know your local bridal stores/boutiques? They might be a good source of clients, if you can do something for them in return, like photographing models for their websites, social media and catalogues at a competitive rate. You could offer their customers some kind of discount or bonus for coming to you from those shops.
