I know some basic, hard rules like: I should play safely on mages and take more risks if I play assassins, I should play aggressively when my jungler is strong and safely when my jungler is weak. But there are too many situations when I feel that I would lose the whole game if I took that big risk, but I might never get a better chance to come back.
