Is it worth to buy the comics ?

I’m considering purchasing the comics, but I noticed that it’s somewhat different from the series. I don’t want to read the comics and then watch the series, only to find myself asking, ‘Why did they change it like that?’ (Did many of you feel the same when you watched the series?) I’m wondering if it’s entirely different and if it’s worth it (to avoid potentially diminishing the enjoyment of the show in the future). PLEASE NO SPOILERS
