Hello,

So in my room there is, unfortunately, no ethernet port, only a telephone port. However, I want to move my pc into my room. So, is there a way? Maybe a telephone-to-ethernet adapter? I have no clue with these things, any and all help is appreciated.

p.s. Will the internet speed be lower?

Nothing that I’m aware of as far as a converter between those two, but I imagine even if one did exist, it wouldn’t be very good.

But what you may want to look into is a Powerline adapter. This basically uses your home’s internal electric system to transfer an internet connection “wirelessly”.

You plug in an adapter near your home router and plug an Ethernet into it and then you plug the other adapter where you want that new Ethernet port at.

    The downsides to this are:

    • older homes with older electric infrastructure may suffer performance

    • using multiple adapters can causes confusion issues

    • not recommended for apartment use where electric infrastructure is shared as someone could leech into your network using this or you possibly doing the same which can be illegal. This can lead to security concerns as well as performance concerns
