This is what the Rockets went through from November 12th and will continue up until December 11th
5 day break between the 12th-17th
3 road games crammed into 4 nights from the 17th-20th so a road b2b
Grizzlies on the 22nd and Nuggets on 24th at home
4 day break from 24th to 28th
Road b2b against 2 of the best teams in the league in the Mavs and Nuggets
3 day break from 29th to 2nd until we play the Lakers on the road
4 day break until OKC at home on the 6th, then immediate travel to Denver on the 8th (quite literally the 4th matchup against the Nuggets in the span of like 3 weeks
3 day break until the Spurs game on the 11th
All these long breaks make it impossible for the team to stay in rhythm and because of them, they’re cramming the Rockets games into short windows which tires out the team and causes injuries (as evidenced last night). And this will cause the Rockets to play 19 games in a roughly 1 month window from December 11th to January 13th containing 4 back to backs and only 1 break longer than 2 days during Christmas
I don’t think I’ve ever seen scheduling this bad aside from the 2012 Lockout and the post COVID 2021 season where they had to fit a ton of games into a short timeframe. This type of scheduling during a normal season is unacceptable imo
