So, I bought a Genovation Cp24 for 50 cents at a thrift store. Unfortunately it did not have a cable. As I am stubborn and unwilling to pay I decided to make my own. Unfortunately there was a distinct lack of information about what the connections would be from and Rj45 to USB.

Well, here it is for anyone looking to make their own.

Only five of the 8 pins are used on the rj45.

Pin 1 (orange stripe) and 4 (blue) are connected to USB +5v (red)

Pin 5 (blue stripe) is connected to usb data- (white)

Pin 6 (green) is connected to USB data + (green)

Pin 7 (brown stripe) is connected to USB -5v (black)

That’s it. The genovation Cp24 will be recognized and programmable with this wiring.

This is mainly here for so that hopefully fewer people need to spend as much time as I wasted figuring this out.
