I notice often when I boot up my Steam Deck, that there are several tiny downloads for several games. These are usually under a megabyte. In fact, I just booted up now and like 16 games updated. These can’t all be actual game updates, right?
I don’t get those every other day, I get them like every other minute. I’ll boot up the deck after a day or two and it’ll take a good 20-30 minutes to download and install all of the updates, if not longer. If I then decide to shut down the deck and turn it back on an hour or 2 later, a bunch of games want to do a bunch of tiny updates. Reboot for some reason, or shut it down while I go do something else, and turn it back on, and a bunch of games once again want to do all those little updates, many of them the same games that had just updated a few minutes ago. Got curious one day, and decided to just reboot repeatedly. It wasn’t until the 4th reboot that it decided that there were no more updates to be run.
I assume that it’s shader cache related, or something like that. I can’t think of what else would need to be constantly changing little bits of data over and over.
