Hello all.
I just bought a brand new 2024 Corolla hatchback SE about a week ago. I didn’t have the best buying experience but I desperately needed a new car and loved this model, so it worked out fine to me. Literally the same day I bought it, I start having issues where the infotainment system only works about 40-50% of the time.
I’d hold down the screen’s power button to restart it, id tap the screen, id restart the car, and then MAYBE it’d turn on. When it’s not working, I can’t use the radio system in any capacity, the backup camera, any charging ports near the screen, or any navigation features whatsoever.
I took it back to the dealership’s service garage a couple days later and they essentially said they couldn’t find anything wrong but that they would document it because I’m “not the only one theyve seen that’s experiencing this” (so enthused that they told me that after buying the car 🥴). I totally get that a con of getting a brand new model is that there could be issues they were unaware of occur that they can’t fix until people report it, so maybe this is just what this is… Is there anything else I can do? Does anyone know how to find out who manufactures the screen/radio systems in these models to see if any kind of replacement part is available?
If anyone else is experiencing this in the newest Corolla models, have you been able to fix it?
I really do love the car and it was such a struggle to even find one of these and go through the buying process, so the idea of having to start all over if I were to take it back just seems so frustrating, but I am also beyond frustrated that a brand new car is having these issues so suddenly. If you can’t tell already, this is the first new car (or really any car) that I’ve purchased myself so I’m very naive to how all of this works and what to do. Any advice or thoughts are appreciated!
